VIBE—A New Tool in CIS’ Fight Against Fraudulent Immigration Filings



Filing employment-based petitions for foreign nationals is becoming a more invasive procedure. Citizen and Immigration Services (CIS) plans to introduce a web-based program to validate information about employers who submit employment-based petitions. The program, Verification Initiative for Business Enterprise (VIBE), will utilize open source data from an independent provider to validate information submitted by organizations that petition to employ foreign national workers. VIBE will be used by adjudicators to verify the viability and current level of business operations for companies filing employment based petitions. VIBE is scheduled to launch in the spring of 2010.
